About Jeff Gannon/James Guckert

As the story rages on, Wizbang has an excellent take on the story, including many links. In brief, it's less of a story than you'd think if you relied on either newspapers or some left-leaning blogs.

Here's just one of many examples Wizbang offers:

Allegation - The White House should have know about Gannon's sexual history and barred him from the White House.

Fact - Ari Fleischer, in an interview with Editor &Publisher, notes, "The last thing our nation needs is for anyone in the White House to concern themselves with the private lives of reporters. What right does the White House have to decide who gets to be a reporter based on private lives?"

Update: LGF links to and comments on Howard Kurtz's piece on Gannon in yesterday's Post. Charles notes that Kurtz has spilled more words on Gannon than on Eason Jordon, and he has some choice comment for the left-wing bloggers who're after Gannon. Also, CBS News Senior Political Editor Dotty Lynch is proposing a connection between Gannon and Karl Rove. Right.

Update II: Hindrocket has a long post on the left's treatment of James Guckert. The entire post is worth reading, as it shows the righteous indignation of a responsible moral agent: John Hinderaker. That clear understanding of human morality is why the PL guys are so good at what they do. Here are just a couple of lines, but you really should read the entire post:

The American left has been guilty of many contemptible actions over the past twenty years, but few are so deeply offensive as its treatment of Jim Guckert, aka Jeff Gannon . . . .

The presence of a Bush-friendly journalist in the White House press corps was taken by the left as a deep affront. A study conducted a few years ago found that the White House press corps is 90% Democratic; apparently the left won’t be satisfied until the figure is 100%. So liberals began “investigating” Gannon. They found that he was a homosexual and started posting photos of him on their web sites, along with vicious personal attacks.
