Can You Read Italian? No? Good!

Michelle Malkin has caught CNN in an attempt, it seems, to change the translation of Italian reporter Giuliana Sgrena's own recollection of her drive to the Baghdad airport, in which her Italian security guard was killed by U.S. troops who say the car ignored orders to slow down at a check point.

Although CNN's web site doesn't mention the origin of the translation they use of Sgrena's "My Truth," (which, by the way, seems to be hers alone), in fact it is from the web pages of Il Manifesto, the communist newspaper for which she writes. It has become controversial since Sgrena recounts her car flying through Baghdad on the way to the airport, and yet CNN chose precisely that portion to change in an attempt to protect the Italians from any blame. Rather than having her car speeding along, CNN wrote:

I can't find the original article in Italian on the web site of Il Manifesto. In any event, CNN has been caught red-handed -- and by a blogger! But of course!
