If Republicans keep shooting off their mouths over Miers, seemingly more to vent than to accomplish a constructive purpose, and our candidates suffer, among the consequences would be extremist ignoramus Nancy Pelosi calling the shots for America, and they will be aimed at the U.S. very security.

Nancy Pelosi, representing the Democrats, says....

....that Iraq is [1]not a part of the war on terror.
Today was an opportunity for the President to be candid with the
American people about the status of democracy in Iraq, and when he
will bring our troops home. Instead, the President offered little
more than empty rhetoric, claiming that Iraq is the central front
in the war on terror a position that is simply not supported by
the facts.
Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda's second in command and the mastermind
behind the 9/11 attacks, [2]disagrees with her.
The letter of instructions and requests outlines a four-stage plan,
according to officials: First, expel American forces from Iraq.
Second, establish a caliphate over as much of Iraq as possible.
Third, extend the jihad to neighboring countries, with specific
reference to Egypt and the Levant -- a term that describes Syria
and Lebanon. And finally, war against Israel. US officials say they
were struck by the letter's emphasis on the centrality of Iraq to
Al Qaeda's long-term mission.
When it comes to deciding whom to believe, I'll put my money on
Zawahiri. His letter was written to al Zarqawi and is obviously meant
to be taken literally and seriously -- instructions from a superior
officer to his subordinate.
Whom do you believe? And how much longer can Pelosi get away with such
stupid statements before someone calls her on it?
