There are few among conservative bloggers who can see as clearly and calmly as "Captain" Ed Morrissey, of CaptainsQuarters.

He demonstrates that wonderful skill again in Sunday's Washington Post, "How Harriet Unleashed a Storm on the Right." It is a must read. Anyone who is getting confused by all the heated debate among conservatives over Ms. Miers' nomination to the Supreme Court will be enlightened by the Captain's taxonomy. There's a good reason he's the Captain: he clearly sees through the fog of war, to common sense.
