Some nationalized health care advocates say that Americans are in favor of a government-run health care system.
The survey question they ask is usually some variant of, “Do you favor establishing a system that would provide health coverage for all Americans?”
Heck, who wouldn’t say yes to that apple pie!
The American Consumer Institute published a national survey (free subscription to National Underwriter) with a more honest question: Do you support a nationalized health plan in which doctors and hospitals would be under federal government control?”
Only 43% of all survey participants said they would support such a plan, the institute researchers say. Although 54% of Democrats said they would support a “nationalized health plan,” only 52% of uninsured participants said they would support such a plan, according to the researchers.
So, even 48% of the uninsured don't want Washington bureaucrats running health care, at least more than they already do. These must include many of those who have already experienced government-run health care, who know better.
At least, in elections 57% is a landslide. Wonder why we only hear about nationalized health care from an old, rich guy from Massachusetts, who can find a way to buy his way out?
