We Can't Let the Khmer Rouge Escape

To date not a single high-ranking Khmer Rouge leader has been held accountable or has taken responsibility for the death of as many as 2 million Cambodians -- roughly a quarter of the population.

Another’s Life: Lessons from Kafr Qana

The current conflict in Lebanon brings to the fore one of the most basic questions any culture must try to answer: What is the value of another’s life?

Iran working with N.Korea on missiles

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea has been working closely with Iran to develop its long-range ballistic missiles, possibly using Chinese technology, and is building large bases to prepare for their deployment, a South Korean state-run think tank said.
North Korea is also building new sites near the Demilitarized Zone with the South for short-range missiles and is deploying missiles with improved precision that can strike most of Japan, the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) said in a report….

Murtha Fails to Stop Local Veterans & VFTT Press Conference

BootMurtha release, Aug. 3, 2006
Johnstown, PA... Speaking to a large contingency of press today, retired Navy SEAL CAPT Larry Bailey said, "Murtha thinks that's a rally. Come back October 1st, and I'll show you a rally"
Bailey, a decorated Vietnam war veteran and President of Vets For The Truth, made his comment at a press conference in Johnstown, PA, while Rep. John Murtha tried to hold his own rally nearby.
Local veterans and Bailey were met by FoxNews, the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer, three local TV stations and local newspapers.
A group of local vets are organizing an Oct. 1st rally in Johnstown and have welcomed VFTT's sponsorship of the event. Veterans and outraged citizens from all over the nation are expected to attend the Rally to show their disdain for Congressman Murtha's policies.
Addressing accusations from the Murtha rally that they were nothing but a bunch of "carpetbaggers" and "swift boaters," local veteran Mark Parker, Waynesburg, PA, said, "That's not true. We're not the Swift Boat Veterans. They are an entirely separate group, but thanks for the compliment. We're local veterans, local guys."
Murtha brought in former Sen. Max Cleland (D-GA) to boost his rally and help bring media attention to counter the presence of VFTT in his District. Murtha was capable of rallying approximately 125 people for the counter demonstration.
Local District veterans and VFTT held the press conference to announce their firm opposition to Congressman Murtha and to make voters aware of the launch of Operation Street Corner within District 12. The press conference also gave details for the Oct. 1 rally.
Regarding Operation Street Corner, VFTT informed the press that interested citizens of District 12 could go to www.bootmurtha.com and find printable materials at the "Operation Street Corner" hotlink and flyers online about Murtha. These materials are available for individuals to make their own "operation street corner" display. (See OSC display example)
CAPT Larry Bailey created Operation Street Corner during the 2004 Kerry Lied campaign conducted by Vietnam Vets for the Truth.
Bailey is now president of a project entitled, "Operation Boot Murtha," under the auspices of Iowa Presidential Watch PAC's committee Vets For The Truth.
Bailey said, "This is a very empowering way to let ordinary citizens politically express themselves and help to defeat Murtha, who has betrayed America's military personnel and discarded the God-fearing patriotic family values of the voters of his District."
Regarding Murtha's counter demonstration efforts to silence the local veterans' press conference, Johnstown resident Craig Minnick (an Iraq war veteran and Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves) said, "This is not surprising. I have called time and time again to Congressman Murtha's office and they have refused to listen to me, even though I am one of Rep. Murtha's constituents. So, today's rude behavior by Murtha's gang was not unexpected. However, he cannot stop our campaign from informing the public of his dereliction of duty in supporting America's troops."
The effect of Murtha's counter rally was to bring greater attention to the local veterans' press conference, and they failed to silence the message that John Murtha is anti-military, anti-family, anti-border security, and wrong for PA's District 12.

Why Does Uncle Sam Keep Two Sets of Books

The war against Israel

If, heaven forbid, this does turn into a second Holocaust, we can now discern the key difference from the first one. This time the Jews will be blamed for their own destruction. And this time, the political left and the media will have blood on their hands. Indeed, they already do. The lies, libels and distortions, the selective reporting and omissions, the egregious double standards, the moral inversion which turns jihadi murderers into resistance fighters and their victims into war criminals, the willingess to report Hezbollah propaganda as the truth while disparaging Israeli statements as lies (when they are even reported at all), not to mention the ancient canards against the Jews now being blurted out everywhere from California to Canary Wharf – all are not only creating a lethal climate of increasingly hysterical hatred against Israel and the Jews, but are also egging on the terror-puppeteers of the jihad and recruiting yet more to the cause of murdering Jews and waging holy war against the west. …

The old chestnut that to be anti-Israel is not necessarily to be anti-Jew won’t wash. Antisemitism is protean. It changes shape from generation to generation. First, Jews were hated on account of their religion. Then they were hated on account of their (supposed) race. And now they are hated on account of their nation state. Just as the individual Jew was once made the universal scapegoat for the crimes of others, now the collective Jew in the Jewish state is being forced to play the same role.
Israel is the defining moral issue of our time.
