Free Kareem Amer

Fox News will broadcast an interesting program on terrorism this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Michelle Malkin
notes that:

>"Egyptian blogger Kareem Amer's trial is scheduled for this Thursday. An informal group of New York City residents are joining together in solidarity for a peaceful protest of the government of Egypt's treatment of Kareem, and to plead for all charges against him to be dropped. The protest has been organized for this Wednesday, January 31 at 3:30pm, in front of the Egyptian Consulate in New York."

Sign the petition to free Kareem here and write a courteous and firm letter demanding his release to the Egyptian Embassy at 3521 International Ct. N.W Washington, DC 20008, (202)895-5400, Fax (202)244-5131

I have written the following letter:

PO Box 130
West Shokan, NY 12494

Egyptian Embassy
3521 International Ct. N.W
Washington, DC 20008,

Dear Sirs:

Egyptian law school student Kareem Amer, 22, has been in solitary confinement in Alexandria , Egypt since November 6, 2006 after posting to his website statements critical of Islam and calling for equal rights for women and protection of free speech. Denied bail, he faces a 9-year prison sentence if convicted of the charges held against him, which include “incitement to hate Islam.”

I urge the Egyptian government to release Kareem Amer.

Sincerely,

Mitchell Langbert, Ph.D.
