Skewed Poll Has Doctors Favoring Nationalized Care

The appropriately named blog Health Care BS looks at the widely reported poll of which Reuters, for example, says:

More than half of U.S. doctors now favor switching to a national health care plan and fewer than a third oppose the idea…

The poll’s BS is punctured by noting that its doctor group sponsor is an avid supporter of nationalized health care but its membership is but 2% of U.S. physicians, hardly a rousing endorsement of its agenda.

Further, the polled group represents less than half of U.S. doctors, and takes positions more liberal than most. The respondents to the poll were self-selected, with only about 51% bothering.

Another unrepresentative, spurious survey meant to influence rather than inform. Bad medicine for what ails us.
